Nabi concluded the tournament with a staggering 60 wickets in just 10 matches, boasting an incredible average of 12.57. Even if he were to be selected, reports suggest that a Test debut for the J&K bowler would still be a distant possibility.
Sarkar was quoted stating, “Auqib Nabi has 60 wickets, but his pace isn’t something that has impressed one and all. Even if he makes 15, Test debut is a long shot. There remains a chance he won’t be picked.” This expert assessment underscores the rigorous standards expected at the international Test level, where consistent high pace is often a non-negotiable attribute for fast bowlers, especially on pitches that may not offer significant assistance.
