Suryakumar Yadav to Face Uganda National Cricket Team Ahead of T20 Mumbai League

Suryakumar Yadav, India’s T20I captain, is likely to face the Uganda National Cricket Team ahead of the T20 Mumbai League, which begins on June 1.

The Uganda team is currently on a four-day tour of Mumbai, where they will play four T20I games against different Mumbai T20 League teams.

Triumph Knights Mumbai North East vs Uganda T20 Match

Suryakumar Yadav will feature for the Triumph Knights Mumbai North East in the T20 Mumbai League, but before that, he is set to face Uganda in a T20 match scheduled for May 30 at the MCA Ground in Bandra Kurla Complex.

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has successfully made an agreement of a five-year Memorandum of Understanding with Cricket Uganda, which was announced on Tuesday.

MCA Secretary Unmesh Khanvilkar on Suryakumar Yadav’s Chances to Feature Against Uganda

MCA secretary Unmesh Khanvilkar told the media about Suryakumar Yadav’s chances to feature against Uganda, saying, “He (Suryakumar Yadav) is a part of the team, so he is likely to play.”

Khanvilkar added, “Suryakumar Yadav is the Indian captain, and whenever he plays against any team, it is a morale-booster for any team, and it is going to be a good cricket experience.”

MCA President Ajinkya Naik on the Agreement with Cricket Uganda

MCA president Ajinkya Naik informed that the International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Jay Shah has played a massive role in the agreement between MCA and Uganda.

Naik said, “Under the leadership of Mr Jay Shah, he had requested us to host the Uganda cricket team, and we thought it was a great privilege to host a national team here in Mumbai and for our Mumbai players to get an exposure against a national team.”

Naik also mentioned that the agreement will allow MCA to travel to Uganda during their season or even in the off-season, providing exposure to the bench strength of MCA.

The agreement is expected to benefit the cricketers of Mumbai, and the T20 Mumbai League is set to begin on June 1.
